The book analyses the topic of corporate strategy, presenting some useful frameworks for analyzing the competitive system, represented by the structure-conduct- performance model (Chapter 16), the five forces (chapter 17) and the strategic and competitive groupings (Chapter 18). The positioning choices made by the company are reflected in the entrepreneurial formula (Chapter 14), enriched by the relationships with the destination (Chapter 15) and competitive strategies (Chapter 19). Corporate strategy produces a series of effects on corporate results (annual report). The book illustrates the statements in which the annual report is divided (Chapter 1), with particular attention to the income statement and the balance sheet (Chapter 2). Some examples of registrations are illustrated, useful for understanding the double- entry method (Chapter 3) and above all the accrual principle (Chapter 4). The chapters dedicated to the financial analyses present the two reclassified statements (Chapters 5 and 6) and some financial techniques, such as the ratios (Chapter 7), the income statement divided by business unit (Chapter 8), the break-even (Chapter 9) and the what if analysis (Chapter 10), the determinants of operating income (Chapter 11). Finally, the cash flow statement (Chapter 12) and the discounted cash flow (Chapter 13) are presented. The analysis of these tools is always accompanied by numerous examples.
