This book is a collection of studies performed by the authors in the last 10 years aimed at rethinking and redefining the concept of industrial policy. The main reason for it is that scholars and policy-makers repeatedly asked for this kind of book. The primary purpose of gathering this research is therefore to provide students with a knowledge base to study and take as basis for further reflections on the topic. For policy-makers, it can be useful in that it puts together the relevant historical, theoretical and practical issues in the design and implementation of industrial policies.
