The world is currently undergoing a significant transformation due to the widespread adoption of new technologies. This book explores this transformation and categorizes it into three categories: organizational, financial, and technological. It examines the impact of these changes on the financial services industry, considering both the demand and supply sides. It is a comprehensive guide for professionals and leaders navigating this ever-changing landscape. It offers a complete overview of all aspects of these transformations and serves as a compass for leaders navigating the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies. The book's focus is on the end of the 2020s, by which time new technologies, business models, and work arrangements are expected to be fully established and widespread. The financial world will also transform profoundly, embracing a hybrid approach that coexists with traditional assets. Digital finance will become the driving force, leveraging blockchain technology to enable instant transactions in securities and currencies. The metaverse will emerge as a central hub for the exchange of digital goods and services, powered by the vast data processing capabilities of quantum computers and 6/7G communication networks. Personal data will become a valuable commodity, exchanged for goods, services, and penalties in the metaverse. The physical and digital worlds will intertwine seamlessly, with humans interacting through their digital avatars in the workplace and social settings.
