This monograph analyses the evolution of business models in the energy sector within the broader context of the sustainability transition. Integrating economic theory, management studies, and empirical evidence, the volume examines how firms reconfigure value creation mechanisms in response to regulatory change, technological innovation, and environmental constraints. Sustainable business models are conceptualised as strategic architectures capable of supporting long-term competitiveness while addressing systemic- sustainability challenges. Adopting an integrated analytical framework, the work interprets the energy market as a complex socio-economic system shaped by technological, institutional, and geopolitical dynamics. Through the examination of empirical cases and the development of an innovative sustainable business model, the volume contributes to both theoretical advancement and managerial practice, offering insights relevant to firms and policymakers engaged in the energy transition.
